Mr. Letinich is the Business
Manager & Secretary-Treasurer of the
Washington and Northern Idaho District Council which represents 12 local
union affiliates with a membership over 12,000. He is a Navy veteran
who started his Union career in 1979 when he joined Laborers’ Local
#335 in Vancouver, WA to work on Bonneville Dam’s second powerhouse.
He worked his way up through the ranks and in 1992, at the age of 35,
was elected Business Manager & Secretary-Treasurer of Local #335.
He served his Local until 2001 when he was promoted to Assistant Business
Manager of the Washington & Northern Idaho District Council. In 2006
Letinich was appointed Business Manager & Secretary-Treasurer of
the District Council of Laborers.
Letinich was instrumental in establishing the Washington Construction
Industry Substance Abuse Program in Western Washington and the Construction
Industry Drug Free Workplace Program in Southwest Washington and Oregon.
As Chairman of the Northwest Laborers-Employers Training Trust Fund,
he worked with the Trustees to expand the Apprenticeship Program which
presently recruits, supports and trains approximately 1,000 apprentices.
Letinich currently serves
the Union in many capacities including; Chairman of the Washington
Fair Contracting Foundation, Chairman and Trustee of
the Northwest Laborers-Employers Training Trust Fund, Secretary and Trustee
for the Northwest Laborers-Employers Health & Security Trust Fund
and the Western Washington Laborers-Employers Pension Trust. He also
serves as a Trustee on the Washington/Idaho Laborers-Employers Pension
Trust and as Co-Chairman of the Washington Laborers-Employers Cooperation
Team. Previously, he has served on the Board of Directors for the City
of Vancouver Public Facilities District and on the Board of Directors
for the Oregon & Southwest Washington Fair Contracting Foundation.
Dave lives in Bothell, Washington with his wife, Bonnie and stepdaughters
Alexandra and Elyse. He has two children, son Deken and daughter Sarah
and three grandchildren who live in Vancouver, Washington.
