Dan Aussen

Dan Aussem is the Executive Director of the Illinois Valley Contractor’s Association. He began his career in 1975 as an Iron Worker in Local 386 LaSalle, IL and was elected Business Manager in 1994. He was President of the Illinois Valley Building Trades Council from 2000 - 2007 and was also President of the Iron Workers District Council of Chicago & Vicinity 2001-2005. He was elected to the City Council of Ottawa, Illinois in 2007 and currently serves as Commissioner of Accounts & Finance. In 2008 he accepted the position of Executive Director of the signatory Illinois Valley Contractor’s Association and as such is a Management Trustee on several Pension Funds, Health & Welfare Funds and Apprenticeship & Training Funds.

Dan and His wife Sue have been married thirty-five years and have Five children and Four grandchildren
