Steve White is director of the Affiliated Construction Trades Foundation, the fair contracting arm of the West Virginia State Building Trades. White has been the ACT director since it was started in 1992. Prior to that he worked for the United Brotherhood of Carpenters at their Washington headquarters in both the apprenticeship and corporate research departments.

A 20 year member of the Carpenters he has also worked at the trade and as an organizer. White graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in Economics and Labor Relations. He lives in Charleston, West Virginia with his wife Cathy, son Andy, and daughter Emily.
